The Dachstein suspension bridge

Austria’s tallest suspension bridge is located on the Dachstein Glacier. It was opened at the beginning of July in 2013. This stunning 100-meter structure is located near the town of Schladming. The “bridge to nowhere” will give you a dizzying view of the mountain landscape. You should to go through a narrow staircase of 14 steps, and you will see the main part – a unique viewing platform.

This bridge ends with a glass viewing platform. A small transparent viewing platform as if it is hanging over a precipice between steep cliffs at an altitude of 400 meters. This is the most exciting viewing platform in the Alps!

This place attracts crowds of adventurers and courageous travelers. Not surprisingly, that the Dachstein is called the pearl of the Austrian ski resorts. You could enjoy guided tours, snowboarding, skiing, mountaineering, hiking and paragliding.

A visit to the suspension bridge costs 3 euros for adults, and for children is free. This price includes a visit to the Dachstein Ice Palace, which is connected to the glacier by this bridge. You will surely enjoy traveling through the corridors of the Ice Palace.

The combination of ice, light and sound is an incredible experience. Here you can see the Throne Room designed by the legendary Greek Acropolis, the ice figures of popular characters from the animated film Ice Age, which were carved by Chinese masters, as well as many other interesting things. Children, like adults, love to be photographed with figures. Dachstein is one of the most unique viewing platforms in the world.
